Animated Comic – Dancefloor

Here the team were trialling a new way of presenting narrative developments. I was responsible for animating the sequence to enhance and bring to life the narrative that the team had developed

In this second instalment of this newly developed feature, not only did I animate the entire sequence, but was also responsible for posing, lighting and rendering 3D models of the characters and backgrounds based on provided concepts that would be used in the sequence.

To me, characters are more than just how they look, it’s who they are, and their animations should show the player this.

Best Fiends Stars had the win stream feature that would give the player power ups based on how many wins in a row they’d achieved. We wanted an interesting way to have these appear on the board so opted for the host of the event, Howie, to fly in and magic them onto the play board. This is the animation and character skin I created for that flow.

For this animation I worked closely with the marketing and video production team to create this trailer for a new event we were releasing on Best Fiends.

For my part I used Spine to create and export the required animations of the characters which the Video team then integrated into this trailer.

This is a development video of Slug animations I made for the Coin Collection Event in Best Fiends. Here I used Spine to bring the two slugs I designed specifically for the event to life.
